David Hunter is the co-founder and Executive Artistic Director of GreenRoom Productions.  He majored in Theatre Ministry at Judson University with an emphasis on improvisation and spent 3 years training with the Second City Training Center.  In addition to GreenRoom Productions, Dave is the Technical Director / Artistic Associate for CYT Chicago, Theatre Producer / Recruiter for Judson University, and head of video production for GreenRoom’s video business. Acting credits include the Detective in Didit and Didit Again, Motel in Fiddler on the Roof, Hysterium in A Funny Thing…Forum, Frederick in Noises Off, and countless improv shows.  Recent directing credits include Mulan, The Wizard of Oz, Guys & Dolls, The Twenty-Fifth Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, and The Sound of Music.  He lives in Elgin with his beautiful wife Martine and 2 semi-cute daughters.

 

Matthew Aldis is a co-founder of GreenRoom and senior graphic designer of advertising. Matthew has a BA in Visual Communications with a minor in Theatre. GreenRoom credits include Austin in Austin's Cheek, Phillip in A Day in the Life of Phillip Poopeshoote, the Baker in Into the Woods, Jekyll in Jekyll & Hyde, Pseudolus in Funny Thing, Big Julie in Guys and Dolls, William Barfeé in Spelling Bee as well as numerous improv shows. Various acting credits include The Dentist and Voice of the Plant in Little Shop of Horrors, Cogsworth in Beauty and the Beast, Charlie Brown in You're a Good Man Charlie Brown, Professor Plum in Clue the Musical, Fezzywig, Christmas Present and P&J Man in Scrooge the Musical, Rick Steadman in The Nerd. Directing credits include Robin Hood, Scrooge the Musical, Honk, Seussical the Musical, The Crucible, Les Miserbles and Little Shop of Horrors for CYT. Matthew has also received formal training from Second City's Conservatory program. Matthew lives inSt. Charles and spends the majority of his time laughing with his beautiful wife Kelly and their dog Abigail...who has a British Accent.

 

Kerry Cox has been with GreenRoom for nine years.  She graduated from Judson University with a Bachelors in Marketing.  Recent credits include Thoroughly Modern Mille (Mrs. Meers), Funny Thing Happened (Erronius), Grease (Rizzo), Into the Woods (Witch), Didit Again (Chine Tween), and Fiddler on the Roof (Chava).  Her first show with GreenRoom was when she was a Junior at Judson, in the Dawson’s Creek parody, Austin’s Cheek. She played “Chloe”, a weirder, more whining version of “Joey” from Dawson’s Creek.  Directing credits include Cinderella, Thouroughly Modern Mille, Alice, Seussical the Musical, Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, Music Man, Charlotte’s Web, Annie, Wizard of Oz and Robin Hood.  She currently lives in Elgin with her husband Ryan and dog Soto.

 

Taylor Kras began his GreenRoom journey almost eight years ago. He holds a BFA in Graphic Design from the Illinois Institute of Art. Since joining GreenRoom, he has performed in numerous improv, sketch comedy shows, and Surreality Episodes like The Challenge and The Real World: GreenRoom. He has choreographed numerous CYT, Judson University, and GreenRoom productions including Alice!, Footloose, The Apple Tree and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. Stage credits include Funny Thing…Forum (Hero) The Importance of Being Earnest (Jack), Into the Woods (Jack), Grease (Doody), 42nd Street (Billy), The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Chip), Aladdin (Genie), Joseph (Judah), and Disney’s Beauty & the Beast (LeFou).  Film credits include Jake in the PSA Fire Safety in the Dorms. Taylor also toured as an actor in A Place to Grow with guest performers Amy Grant & Mark Harrison. T&F

 

Jenny Olson has been a proud member of GreenRoom since November 2008.  Her passion for acting began with her involvement in Christian Youth Theater, and she continued grow as a performer through the theater program at Judson University.  Jenny has preformed as Mrs. White in Clue the Musical, Hippolita in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Gymnasia in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum.  While at Judson, she directed the chapel drama ministry where she continued to improve on her writing, directing, and acting while using her gifts to glorify God.  She is currently a teacher at Dundee Middle School.

 

Kat McKeown has been an official ensemble member of GreenRoom Theater since winter of ’09 after winning their yearlong competition “Becoming GreenRoom”, However Improv has been a part of her life long before that. Kat started training in Theater Arts when she was in middle school and has studied it with many different companies ever since. Her past favorite theater credits include “Fairy Godmother” in Cinderella, “Madame Thénardier‏” in Les Misérables, and “The Cat in the Hat” in Seussical the Musical. Kat is a proud teacher, director, and summer camp leader for Christian Youth Theater and is truly blessed to be doing what she loves. In her spare time Kat enjoys music, bible study, and styling hair. Kat has never been to college but still turned out okay… though she hopes to soon start her first year online at IHOPU. She thanks God every time she is with this incredible group of people for the chance to perform and pray alongside them.

 

Miriam Naponelli Masey is one of the newer members of GreenRoom and is thrilled to be performing with the troupe! Miriam graduated with her BFA in Acting from The Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University. Since she has graduated, she has been exploring different aspects of the theatre world by doing things like creating and performing a narrative performance art piece at Follow Spot in Chicago, teaching a theatre camp for The Raue Center for the Arts, assistant directing GreenRoom's production of The Sound of Music, and of course performing improv with GreenRoom. Recent acting credits include A Flea In Her Ear (Antoinette Plucheux), Bury The Dead (Bess Schilling), andScarpino (The Nurse). She is extremely excited to start this new season with GreenRoom and hopes this is one of many! Miriam is thankful for her God given talents and for her family, friends, and her husband Nathan. She would not be here without their constant love and support!

Sam Barbaro is a new addition to GreenRoom.  He not-so-recently graduated from Northern Illinois University with a Bachelor’s degree in Communications and completed the Second City Training Center. Sam was fortunate enough to study improvisation under Steve Carell and the late great, Del Close at IO. He has performed Improv at numerous venues and has taught improvisation at Harper College in Palatine. His first show with GreenRoom was Cabaret, which was his singing debut. Credits include The Gathering – a modern day adaption of the last supper (Phillip) & Tony & Tina’s Wedding (various roles). He is grateful for the opportunities that GreenRoom has provided to grow as an improvisor and perform in new venues.

 

Paul Gunsul has been the piano player for GreenRoom Productions for almost nine years.  He took his first organ lesson when he was five years old and grew up playing music for family, friends, and church.  At twelve years old, he discovered that written music was not required to play music and began developing his ear by listening to the radio and playing what he heard.  In December, he earned his Ph.D. in mathematics and loves to teach mathematics at Rock Valley College.

 

 

Brooke Kras happily lives in Crystal Lake with her son (Taylor) and her mom (Doris-otherwise known as Ruby.)  Brooke currently works with Willow Creek Community Church McHenry County as the Director of Production and Curriculum for Promiseland children’s ministry.  GreenRoom acts as her second job and monthly therapy.  She loves being GreenRoom's Production Manager.  Meeting all the new people in the shows is a highlight. Brooke has also worked with CYT as Director of musical productions including Little Women, Annie, and Scrooge.  In addition Brooke has designed lights, make-up, and stage-managed with CYT.
